Santon 3 Wise Men

The 3 Wise Men are said to be Persian scholars who were guided by a star
to Jesus who had just been born. The Magi bring offerings to the infant Jesus.
Gaspard, Melchior and Balthazar represent all the people of the world.
These wise men are symbolically presented in the crib with the star that guided them.

Set of 3 wise man santons sold together.

All the santons de Provence sold here are traditionally made in Provence from clay by a local craftsman and fired before being hand-painted.
The adult santons are approximately 8 / 9 cm high and all the animals and accessories are the same size.
They’re just like us, some bigger, some smaller, some fatter, some skinnier!
This makes them compatible with other collections of 8 / 9 cm Santons.
