He is one of the three Magi of the Nativity.
\nThe Magi are said to be Persian scholars who were guided by a star to Jesus, who had just been born, and brought him offerings.<\/p>\n
Gaspard, Melchior and Balthazar represent all the peoples of the world.<\/p>\n
All the santons de Provence sold here are traditionally made in Provence from clay by a local craftsman and fired before being hand-painted.
\nThe adult santons measure around 4 to 5 cm and all the animals and accessories are the same size.
\nThey are just like us, some bigger, some smaller, some fatter, some thinner!
