Black King

The black santon king is Balthazar.
He is one of the three Magi of the Nativity.
The Magi are said to be Persian scholars who were guided by a star to Jesus, who had just been born, and brought him offerings.

Gaspard, Melchior and Balthazar represent all the peoples of the world.

The adult santons measure around 8 / 9 cm and all the animals and accessories are of a compatible size.
They are just like us, some bigger, some smaller, some fatter, some thinner!
They are therefore compatible with other collections of 8 / 9 cm santons.
