The Virgin Mary has a special place in the Christmas ‘Crib’. She is the mother of the Christ child.
This santon is one of 5 in the nativity scene.
In Provence, the whole village is represented around the advent.

The Catholic and Orthodox churches give it an essential place, whether they call it Mary of Nazareth, the Blessed Virgin, etc.

The adult santons measure around 7 cm and all the animals and accessories are of a compatible size.
They are just like us, some bigger, some smaller, some fatter, some thinner!
They are therefore compatible with other collections of 7 cm santons.
