Santon Goatherd

This little goat keeper santon looks like he is playing with his pretty little white goat.
About 10,000 years ago, Neolithic man began to domesticate and raising goats in the Mediterranean region. This allowed them to have access to the meat and milk produced by goats.

Our present-day goatherds are the heirs of these age-old traditions.

Our santons are made and painted by hand in our
workshop in Provence according to the tradition.
