Small santon white horse

Traditionally in Provence, horses were always harnessed to carry heavy loads or to drive the bulls from the pastures to the bullring. When crossing villages, the gardians would have them gallop through the village at the highest possible speed to limit the risk of the bulls escaping.

It was only on feast days that they were mounted to pay tribute to them.

Our santons are made and painted by hand in our workshops in Provence, according to tradition.
